Rhythms: Create!

Series: Rhythms

In this week’s sermon, Pastor Nathan explored the divine rhythm established by God in creation: Create, Rest, and Plow.Beginning with Genesis 1, we saw that God started with a blank canvas, spoke light into existence, and continued to create with purpose. Humanity, made in His image, was given the ability not just to reproduce but to create, cultivate, and steward the world. However, creation must be balanced with rest, as God demonstrated by setting a limit to His work on the seventh day. Ignoring these rhythms leads to chaos, but when we align with God’s design, we build with longevity.

Pastor Nathan also emphasized that God empowers and resources His will. Just as He filled Bezalel and Oholiab with skill and intelligence to build the tabernacle (Exodus 31), He equips us to create according to His purpose. Whether in art, business, teaching, or restoration, we are called to build in a way that glorifies Him. As we step into a year of building, let us embrace God’s rhythm—creating with purpose, resting in His provision, and plowing ahead with faith. May the Spirit empower us to do the good works He has planned for us.
