In our Rhythms series, we’ve explored how God established a divine cycle of Create, Rest, Plow—a rhythm essential for our spiritual and physical well-being. This week, we focused on Rest, seeing how God Himself rested after creation (Genesis 2:1-3) and set apart the Sabbath as a holy boundary for renewal. Sabbath is not just a command but a gift—a time to realign with God, step away from distractions, and experience true wholeness. Jesus emphasized that Sabbath was made for man, not as a burden but as a life-giving practice (Mark 2:27).
Rest is about more than ceasing work; it’s about intentional reconnection with God, ensuring we don’t drift from His purpose. Hebrews 4 reminds us to strive to enter God’s rest, understanding that without it, we risk burnout and losing sight of His will. Rest is an act of trust, a sign of partnership with God, and a means of spiritual renewal. Whether through silence, solitude, worship, or simply slowing down, Sabbath allows us to refuel and refocus. Let’s be intentional about practicing rest, encouraging one another in it, and making space for God’s voice in our lives. Looking forward to continuing this journey together next week!
